Crafted in a rich, mahogany-wood tone edged in golden tones, this Nativity features a fully sculpted, hand-painted depiction of the Holy Family, with Mary and Joseph kneeling reverently and looking adoringly upon the baby Jesus. The fully open design without glass panels is inspired by the tradition of shadow box scenes and creates a greater sense of intimacy and connection, while the closed back side features two-dimensional artwork of the town of Bethlehem, including a Star of David shining in the heavens, and the Three Wise Men coming from afar. The entire scene lights up with a warm glow at the flip of a switch.
