A new era in space flight began on April 12,1981 when the Space Shuttle Columbia, STS-1, soared into orbit from NASA\'s Kennedy Space Center. America and the world cheered the pioneering spirit that the Shuttle program would mean for decades to come. The shuttle program lasted 30 years, with six different shuttle craft, and 135 missions flown. The program successfully utilized reusable spacecraft, launched several satellites and probes like the Hubble Space Telescope, and helped construct the International Space Station. Now an innovative NASA space shuttle sculpture honors the accomplishments of the program. Introducing the NASA Levitating Space Shuttle Sculpture, available in a limited edition exclusively from The Bradford Exchange.

This intriguing collectible features a levitating shuttle, complete with the shuttle orbiter, solid rocket boosters and external tank. Using hidden electro-magnets built into the base, the shuttle suspends above the glowing base and floats and rotates in mid-air. Crafted in meticulous detail, the illuminated, C-shaped base showcases the First Mission Insignias of all six space shuttles: Enterprise, Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavour. It also displays official photography taken during the shuttle program, as well as images from the Hubble Space Telescope.
